Sahaj Parav

Boroline is a proud associate of Sahaj Parav. The three day long musical extravaganza held in Kolkata every year is a festival with a difference.

Sahaj Parav is quite literally the "Festival of Simplicity". Simplicity that is the essence of Sufism, Baul philosophy, Folk music and any great creation anywhere in the world.

Sahaj Jatra

Sahaj Parav starts with “Sahaj Jatra”, a colourful procession with musicians playing dhols, flutes, sarengis, kirtan singers, dancing bauls, puppeteers, ‘Bahurupee’ dressed as gods and goddesses, santhal dancers swaying melodiously with the rhythms of madol, brightly dressed men or stilts. All walking, together through the busy Kolkata streets and spontaneously breaking into bursts of songs and dances, as passersby and motorists look on.

Sahaj Bandhan

Sahaj Parav 2016 ended with Sahaj Bandhan. The performers, organisers and audience tied the Boroline Sahaj Parav rakhi on each others wrists signifying the bondage of simplicity and happiness that such simplicity brings.
